Summary Bullets:
- Interop 2012 promises to be larger than the 2011 show, a good sign of enterprise interest and investment in network technologies.
- Mobility, virtualization, fabrics, and cloud services will dominate much of the discussion surrounding the trade show.
With the 2012 Las Vegas Interop just over a week away, inquiries and invitations have been flooding in. From wireless to fabrics to virtualization and everything cloud-related, there is a great deal of energy and excitement around enterprise challenges and how best to address them (with a great deal of differentiation between offerings). UBM has brought together a compelling track list and the open sessions are almost certain to be full every day, so get registered and get to the rooms early to ensure a seat. Last year, many popular sessions were standing room only, and this year is almost certain to command similar audiences. Virtualization challenges, evolving management platforms, and vendor interoperability will be key for data center-centric pitches, while most campus and organizational issues touch upon consumerized IT and the host of challenges around BYOD.
After getting a good workout (an average of seven to nine miles daily), there will be plenty of time for reflecting on what you heard and what was discussed. On this note, Current Analysis will be doing an Interop 2012 perspective webinar.
The webinar advertisement is as follows:
“Interop has long been the biggest network technologies trade show globally. Though Interop is held in multiple locations, the spring Interop show in Las Vegas remains the biggest and most attended draw of the circuit. As businesses are loosening purse strings and committing to larger and larger budgets, this Interop should bring more buyers than last year’s – which was a remarkably well attended show compared to the past few years. At Interop, many vendors launch big products and solutions, and technology trends often emerge. With several analysts attending, Current Analysis will be discussing topics with many of the biggest players in the network technology space, such as:
- Where software-defined networks are today
- What are the hottest trends in data center fabrics
- WAN optimization has a bright future
- What is the latest in the WLAN space?
- What are network vendors doing to address the MDM need?
- With 2012 nearly half over, what can we expect in the second half?
Did you make it to Las Vegas for the show? Great; join us for a broader view of its significance. Did you miss out on Interop this year? No worries; join us for view from the ground. Wherever you were during Interop Las Vegas 2012, join us for the opportunity to put the event into context and understand how the trends revealed will impact you and your customers.”
Registration will be available on the Current Analysis Web site shortly.
